Ok. I remade the 34 edge connector.

The 26pin how do I connect it to the dive? the red cable goes from the side of the power or from the side of the motor.

Ok, interesting. Must check inside the FD-1 to see if one gets disconnected inside. I'd recommend making the change to the cable rather than modifying the drive. That way any 3in drive could be used and they can be swapped back and forth.

Bryce.

Is there a modification to the cable needed afterall?

Not making this cable but is fun to watch.

Question:

On mobo's edge, pin 12(bottom) says it's Drive 1.
In which pin of the drive does this go?

Ok. With these connections, internal drive A is working, and external drive B produces "Drive B: Disc Missing" when we execute "cat".

Ok
Put the drive that you are testing inside the 6128 and see if it works ? ?
Please check your wiring on the 26 Pin.
? IMPORTANT Check the Power Lead ? ? ?

Photos below
The Large connector is PC Standard. The small one is ONLY for the 3" drive ONLY

I cannot help any further.

This is the first think I did, just to make sure. Drive is working perfectly.

Are you sure this cable works WITHOUT any modification to the drive?

Thanks again for your help.

Yes I use this Cable to test (UnModified) Questionable drives, I have an other cable to test drives set for "Drive B" also
Please check the wiring of the 26 Pin end of cable.
Please put the test drive back in the 6128 and see if it works. Again

I have two working drives and I have tried them both. I will try and make again the cable. The "other" cable you mentioned, what is it?

vasilisk

Finally, the cable worked. The culprit was the egde connector. The position of the cable was not letting the connector to "touch" all the "pins" from the Drive B port. I had to improvise by lifting the keyboard. Thank you audronic for the creation of the cable.
