Title: CPC464 Display issue
Post by: pusb on 08:49, 01 May 21
Hi,
I've just bought a CPC464 with a faulty display. Seller thought it was the cables from the monitor that were the problem. The screen is all smeared and flickering.

Moving the cables does change the flickering, but still not to the point of it being visible

Is there anything obvious I can try before spending money on a new monitor?

I think the seller is correct and the cable has some damage. Probably you could cut the cable and solder on a new DIN plug.

The sync signal isn't getting to the monitors PCB. Either a break in the cable, dirty contacts or the connector inside is loose.

Thanks guys just wanted to make sure it is the monitor rather than a console issue

Definitely not a problem with the computer.

I took the DIN connector off today (well it pretty much disintegrated)

By the time I got inside of it most of the wires had come loose.

Does anyone know what colour wire is supposed to connect to each pin?

I've got:
Red
Blue
Green
White
Brown
Black

Thanks
