Title: Games ports doesn't work (CPC 6128 PLUS)
Post by: francouai on 08:22, 07 July 19
Hi Guys!
I recently bought a 6128 PLUS but I'm not able to play games with the original pad or any other Joystick.
Games are no responding to any direction or fire.
I know, only one chip (AY) is controlling the game ports, keyboard and sound. But my keyboard is responding and I have sound out on the speaker.I did a check on the DB09 PIN and they looks correctly solder.
Any trouble shooting trick or help will be appreciate!

Do you get any characters when pressing the joystick at the BASIC prompt?

Then you may have some cracked solder joint on the joystick ports or none of joystick/pads work...

There's some inline diodes on the Plus machines that may be damaged, but not on the fire button, it's a direct connection so it should work. Most likely you just have bad solder joints on the sockets.

Bryce.
