Title: PcW10 is broken...
Post by: GUNHED on 13:31, 12 May 17
Hello... after a while (actually a long time) I try to fire up my PcW10, but the screen shows this picture. How can I fix it? Is there a manual or can I adjust some regulator. Or do I need to change caps? Any help is appreciated.

Electrolytic capacitor replacement would be a good place to start.

Thanks. Well, I had some hope that the problem is 'just' some adjustment somewhere.

no, definitely some components have failed in the monitor section. Maybe you can find a TV repair shop somewhere local to check it out?

Guess the last shop of this kind was closed about 20 years ago. But thanks. :)

In UK there is still a company that repairs CRTs, but it is not for cheap. They charge around 150 pounds just for looking at them and shipping costs are not included  :-X At the end, I bit the bullet and I started repairing mine myself. To be honest, now I enjoy the process but I still find it on the stressing side and I prefer to do other things  :)
