The Acorn Electron is a 1983 micro produced by Acorn, intended to be a Spectrum-priced sibling of the BBC Micro, providing essentially the same software environment.
It was nevertheless one of the launch platforms for Elite, and received decent ports of a bunch of several other cross-platform titles such as Chuckie Egg, Exile, Boulderdash, Robotron and Thrust.

Expansions
The Acorn Plus1 expansion provided two cartridge slots, a printer port and an analog joystick port.
The Acorn Plus2 was due to add an Econet interface, which would have made it a contender for use in schools, but the Plus2 was never launched.
The Acorn Plus3 added 3.5inch floppy disk support to the Electron using a WD1770 drive controller and ADFS ROM.
