Vortex RAM Expansion

Vortex provided a system disc with a file called PATCH.COM on it, which patched Amstrad's CP/M 2.2 so that CP/M could use their RAM expansion to get 63KB TPA.

There were also third party implementations which supported the Vortex RAM Expansion such as RCPM.

Vortex Floppy Disc Drives

F1/M1 S- and D-Drive

Vortex provided a patched version of CP/M 2.2 together with their S- and D-Drives.

F1/M1 X-Drive

Following a legal dispute with Digital Research, Vortex switched to supplying only patches for CP/M 3.0. The X-Drive came with a system disc containing XPATCH30.COM which patched Amstrad's CP/M 3.0, adding support for the 80-track Vortex disc format. The system disc itself can be modified to boot CPM 2.2 or 3.0.

Winchester Hard Disk Drive (WD20)

There is a patch which adds support for the Vortex WD20 hard disc drive to CP/M 2.2. There was no patch released for CP/M 3.0.
