Tips for tape/disc versions

The main point of the game is to solve the murder which can contribute a lot to your goal of becoming a real person.

The clues remain the same over each game although some may no appear on one playing of the game but appear in a different playing. The people who the clues point to change each game, although the killer's clues remain the same.

These are:

KILLER'S CLUES: Dislikes Music, Avid Reader, Age 20-30, Taurean, Gardener, Socialist, Doesn't Drive, Gambler, No Children, London Accent.

With these clues, it will be easy to eliminate the suspects. Here is a small guide to following them:

Plays the Piano - the Killer dislikes music
Is Retired - the Killer is age 20 - 30
Votes Tory - the Killer is a socialist
Longs to return to Scotland - the Killer has a London accent
Has Hayfever - the Killer is a keen Gardener

After getting the word BANG! at the top of the coloured bars and you are 99% towards being a real person, you will need to goto the Pleasure Dome and find a coloured door which will lead you to becoming a real person and win the game.

Many items are of no use and can cost you points on the coloured bar. These items include the fish, a federal express envelope and in some cases, the pleasure pills and the cat's milk won't be of use. Also, using the useable items in the wrong place will cost you points on the bar.

Some of the floppy discs which you use in the computer room are corrupt and will cost you points on the bar but when you use a working one (there is no way to find out if they work or not when you pick them up) it will open a portal to another puzzle room. - submitted by Patrick Furlong
