LOADING INSTRUCTIONS
Reset computer by holding down CTRL SHIFT and ESC keys together in that order. Place cassette into the Datacorder. Rewind tape to beginning then press STOP/EJECT once. Press CTRL and small ENTER keys simultaneously then press PLAY followed by any key. This program will take about 6 minutes to load.
Now you can play a truly realistic game of lawn tennis on your CPC464 which fully adheres to the Lawn Tennis Association rules.
Centre Court allows you to challenge a friend, play against the computer or sit back and watch Roland v Arnold in an enthralling match, demonstrating the capabilities of this game. Inevitably, to start with, the computer will beat you but we promise with practice you will improve.
Service
Pressing the fire button once (or the equivalent keys on the keypad) will throw the ball into the air and pressing it the second time will strike the ball. As in the actual game, the timing of hitting the ball after throwing it in the air is directly relative to how high and how far the shot will go.
Rallies
During a rally, your position relative to the ball when you strike it, will control the strength and direction of your shot. Remember, practice makes champions!
Controls
If you play against the computer your keys are:
UP = 1
DOWN = 3
LEFT = 4
RIGHT = 6
SWING RACKET = 8
If two play then player 1 uses the same keys as above and player 2 uses:
UP = Z
DOWN = C
LEFT = A
RIGHT = D
SWING RACKET = W

"For years this was the only decent tennis game on the cpc and it was quite difficult... then there was a flurry of new tennis games which are much more detailed and more fun than this...its worth a look but dont spend too much time on it - one of the better amsoft titles."
