"This was one of my favourite CPC games. The game was beautifully presented, from the packaging - including a large map in the box of the land of Elbereth - to the game itself. Spanning two sides of the disc, with lovely music during the introduction story, and great artwork throughout, this game is massive. Sure, there is a lot of maze-like parts to the game, but there are also taverns, and proper conversations with people to find out clues and hints. There were a selection of weapons and aids you could pick up during the game to help you. If you get a chance, and have some time, then definitely give this game a go."

"I agree... recently won the disk version that came in excellent condition with all the maps, keys and everything. It has a few faults, but otherwise things hold together well. TOL has fast become one of my fav adventure/RPG games on the CPC."
