"People are too hard on this game. Its a reasonable coin-op conversion and is pretty faithful to the original. as a game in its own right its a bit samey and not very original, but quite fun for a while"

"The game that officially gave the Amstrad CPC a bad name... this is probably the worst arcade conversion of all time, for years people with Commodore and Speccys thought the CPC couldn't scroll properly because of this game. Really hurt the CPC's reputation and in my opinion affected sales."
scooby1970 says
"A fun game spoilt by a sloppy conversion. However, at the time it was great fun to play, and it`s still fun today if you ignore the chunky graphics and jery scrolling."
cpc4eva says
"This game SUX.... wat a dog of a conversion... jerky scolling, poor gameplay, jerky scrolling, slow as all hell, jerky scrolling, difficult as they come, jerky scrolling.... a very annoying game with jerky scrolling - just pathetic."

"Oh no. Not Green Beret on the CPC... legendary for creating such a fuss at the time and not easy to review and sum up here. As said below, the absolutely atrocious flick screen scrolling gave the CPC such a bad name and made every other 8-bit magazine and owner think the CPC couldn't do proper scrolling. People moaned about collision detection here - I found it a little loose but more than reasonable. I like the bold chunky graphics here and when you get over the terrible scrolling its still a playable conversion with a nice simple tune in the background keeping you pressing on. Still playable and an OK experience, but we've been badly let down here."
