7 Card Stud

7 Card Stud is Martechs home computer conversion of the old card game, yes another card game gets ported over to the home computer.
If you don?t know the rules to 7 Card Stud it may well be worth searching google for the rules, you certainly won?t be able to play the game without them and we aren?t going to list them here. Here comes the review....
Graphics
As this is a card game you can?t expect much in terms of graphics, the table is green and the cards are pretty well represented on screen so that you can easily identify them. There are no known graphical problems in the game and all seems to look fine.
Sound
Again because of the genre there is little to no sound in this game, Martech added "The Entertainer" to the start of the game which should ring a view bells in the ears of those that have listened to or played the Amiga classic Leisure Suit Larry. Once the game starts however you are restricted to a few tones here and there, other than that there is nothing to speak about.
Gameplay
As for the gameplay, well providing you can play the real thing you should be able to come to grips with this title. Althought the layout takes a while to get used to (using the joystick to select options is never a good idea in this type of game). It could have been made better if Martech had added on online manual or instructions for those that do not know the rules (though we suspect this was probably included in the manual). Though this is a fairly good conversion of the old card game we recommend you still play with a real deck of cards on a real table with your friends or family, it?s a lot more enjoyable than any simulation.
All in all, another average card game conversion for the CPC with little to offer in terms of extras.
