Bestial Warrior

Cross Rick Dangerous with Mr Schwarzenegger and Duke Nukem and this is the result, the Bestial Warrior. Sent to destroy yet another threat to human life and a planet a million miles from home, armed with just a single weapon that seems to have endless ammunition your job it to collect objects and blow the daylights out of all alien creatures before returning safley to home - and yeah we don?t have the original story for this one :).
Graphics
Dinamics Bestial Warrior looks very similar to the arcade classic and highly rated videogame classic "Rick Dangerous" with very rich colours making up the alien planet with high levels of detail, nicely drawn characters (you can almost see the muscle on our hero) and great animation on both the alien creatures and the objects that scatter the planet. The only thing we could really find to complain about regarding the graphical aspects of Bestial Warrior is the extremely small playing area (similar to that seen in Robocop and the Hollywood Collection) and considering the style of graphics used in this game it?s not overly apparent why the screen was sized down like it has been.
Sound
Sound is a little bit of a let down though, there is no music at the start of the game or indeed during the game itself which is something action games always benefit from and helps to keep the audience interested. The in-game effects on the other hand are enough to make you want to play the game at high volume with plenty of explosions, gun fire noises and one or two surprises hear and there. Despite the lack of music it?s certainly worth playing with the volume turned up and is what we expected from Dinamic.
Gameplay
Gameplay of course is of a very high standard, not only does the game look like the classic Rick Dangerous it plays in much the same way. The control system is a breeze and very easy to get to grips with, the game plays at a high frame rate even when it becomes overloaded with action from the oncoming enemy and it?s not massively difficult to play.
The idea is as simple as most action games, blow the crap out of everything that moves (if you can?t kill it then it?s probably not moving) and collect any objects that lay around the screen. We are possitive that most people who love a good platform action game will easily get to grips with this one and will certainly enjoy a good few hours worth of gameplay. We must warn you though that the first couple of times you play the game will probably result in a quick death (very fast energy zapping) but once you get used to the attack waves and what to expect around the corner the game becomes that little bit easier.
While Bestial Warrior might not keep the dedicated shoot-em-up games player happy for a massive amount of time it will certainly occupy the rest of us for a while and is definitely one worth adding to your collection.
