Long ago, when the world was a dark and evil place, out of a black and troubled sky emerged three fearsome dragons - creatures from hell, bearers of destruction, flame, fire and torment. The world was plunged into an age of devastation. Only one man had the courage, power and skill to challenge these servants of Lucifer, he was known only as Black Tiger.

Graphics

Black Tiger stands as more proof that Capcom put as much effort into computer conversions then as they do today, the colour scheme in Black Tiger has to be the worst we have ever seen on the CPC. If you owned a green screen monitor then this is one game you wouldn?t be missing any benefits on, everything is in green with a few shots of purple around the edge of the screen.

This of course makes it extremely hard to see what is going on in the game, keep up with were you character is on screen and see what is attacking you and what isn?t. Another bad example by the same company would be Bionic Commando, this is just another to add to the list of piss poor conversions. The detail work on the characters looks great but when you have to squint, turn down the lights and move your head 4 inches away from your screen just to see it, there?s not much point.

Sound

The music at the front of the game sounds a little funky once you give it a chance to begin moving but it?s not something that is going to knock your socks off, the music that rolls over the game is much more repetitive and soon becomes as annoying as the theme tune to Dizzy. Black Tiger should certainly be played with the sound down otherwise you will quickly loose concentration and become very annoyed by the game.

Gameplay

Black Tiger might have been a hit on other platforms but this game is so badly converted to the CPC you have to wonder why they bothered, you can?t see what you are doing, the control system must have been written by a four year old and the game itself doesn?t keep you interested long enough to even complete the second level.

If you are planning on playing the game without any trainers or cheats then we would strongly recommend you clear all angry thoughts out of your head first before picking up that joystick, the game is VERY frustrating and often annoying.

Despite the reputation of the developer this should be left alone.
