The Boggit is yet another of those "great" or "classic" text adventures that fans of the genre simply rave about, there is no doubt that the game itself is more entertaining than total rubbish like Adrian Mole but is it really as good as the fans say? let?s find out what our little friend is really all about and if it?s worth your time.

Graphics

There are many text adventures out there, few on the Amstrad actually had any graphics to acompany the text thus making them slightly boring. The genre was almost more suited to the BBC micro were an attempt to make the game interesting was always used and only a few titles slipped the net. The Boggit on the other hand is a pretty neat little game with a few nicely drawn illustrations and coloured text to add some depth of interest to an otherwise basic game genre.

Sound

Sound is something you don?t get very often in text adventures on the CPC, again it was best suited to the BBC range of machines but CRL did put some effort into the game by adding some sounds here and there (namely musical scores). For example the part were Gandalf breaks through the window leaving a box of chocolates and a card was pretty funny when mixed with the "Flake" theme music.

Gameplay

Though text adventures don?t appeal much to the staff of CPC Zone and we very rarely play them on the CPC, plenty on the BBC but hardly any on our favourite machine, it appears the The Boggit is an entertaining little game indeed.

There are a lot of funny moments, some illustrated images and great sounds in the game but if you don?t like the genre then it?s well and truly worth skipping as it won?t keep you entertained for long.
