It?s the middle of the night, outside an electrical storm is raging and you?re all alone in castle Frankenstein. Your task is to revive Frankie, the monster who wants you at the top of the tower while you hunt around for vital organs that will make his life complete. You need to find a pair of lungs, a pair of kidneys, a liver, a heart and of course a brain if you want to make a man of him.

Graphics

Bride Of Frankenstein contains a warning at the very front of the loading process stating that due to the complex nature of the game it might take some time to load. Well let me tell you that the wait you take is well and truly worth it, if you have a colour monitor this has never been more true.

The game features some VERY rich graphics with some HIGHLY detailed characters, you play Frankies wife and although a little plump she herself is very well animated and can move around the castle with ease, even when the game becomes over powered with enemies. The ghosts and ghouls also look amazing with even shadows being detailed around the edges and some very superb animation going on. The castle itself is wonderfuly created given it?s 2D form and you soon become hooked on the visuals in the entire game.

Ariolasoft have done us CPC owners proud and certainly aimed to impress with this masterpiece.

Sound

Sound is again amazing, we are treated to some well known evil "Vincent Price" like music at the front of the game which also features a nicely animated Frankie. Once the game is in progress you will hear your heart beat getting louder, doors opening and closing, ghosts attacking you from every angle and so much more. Even with the rich graphics Ariolasoft managed to pull of some nice sounds and music for us to enjoy during play.

Gameplay

With the graphics and sound hyped up we can now move on to the gameplay, Frankie plays absolutely brilliantly and the overall experience feels more like something from the 16-bit era. The idea is simple but with so many keys, doors and ghouls to find and overcome throughout the game it?s far from being an easy title.

Older players will love this game to bits due to the size of the adventure but younger players will appreciate the graphics much more than they appreciate how the game actually plays. We here at CPC Zone strongly recommend this title.
