Another card game is converted to the home computer, we realy don?t know why software houses thought this was a good idea but they went and did it anyway. This time our big friends over at Infogrames jumped on the wagon and decided to release the aptly named Bridge into the CPC market, it?s by a big name but does that make it any good? lets find out.
Graphics
Bridge looks pretty much like every other card game on the CPC, we are presented with the familiar green table and various well drawn card faces. There are plenty of options on offer in Bridge but these are the only real extra the CPC gamers are getting in this one, not a lot has been done to make Bridge stand out from the rest of the card game crowd which is a bit of a shame considering Infogrames otherwise good reputation in the scene.
I for one expected a little bit more but then again, what else can be done that hasn?t already been done with games of this genre?
Sound
Sound is something we can?t realy discuss because there is hardly a bleep or sound in the entire game. This could have been the thing to make the game stand out but sadly the developers missed out on the chance and left it like the rest of the crowd.
Gameplay
Bridge is simply for those that like the original card game. The downside on all of these games is that you don?t actually make any real life money in playing the simualtion and that the computer is nearly always that little bit more smart than you about how he/she deals the cards.
We all know that Solitaire is the card game of choice and that very few other games have stood out of the crowd, sadly this is the came with Bridge. Despite being developed/released by big name "Infogrames" it did not live up to the hype.
