Bumpys Arcade Fantasy

Bumpy is back once again in his second puzzling platformer for the Amstrad CPC. This time he is in an arcade universe and can freely travel from stage to stage, the only thing is if he plans to get himself out of there he must complete all of the available rooms before moving on to the next one.
And now for the review.
Graphics
Since his original outing "Bumpy" has been given a major new look, the original scored a nine out of ten for the graphics at had and they looked nothing like this one.
Loriciels have dumped the old one colour scheme and moved up to using the full range of colours to make the game look that little bit better, our bouncing hero himself for example has a few more frames of animation and looks like he has put weight on since the original outing.
The levels have retained the design genius but of course the addition of extra colours makes them stand out from the original. With the added addition of being able to move from one stage to the next without completing the current level the game is even more appealing to younger gamers and those with short tempers. More good stuff from Loriciels.
Sound
Sound is once again superb, we are introduced with a nice piece of music which closely follows the sounds of the game. Now the sounds in the original game were quite good but they, like the graphics, have had an improvement or two made to them. The bounding sound is more crisp, the collection of items is more rewarding and the sliding into things getting hurt noises are quite simply superb. Great stuff once more.
Gameplay
Bumpy Arcade Fantasy follows on from the original game in which you jumped from one platform to the other while trying not to fall into traps or down holes, this sequel of course retains that but has all the improvements mentioned above.
Is the sequel any less playable than the original? well contrary to popular belief about sequels, prequels and all the jazz this game retains everything from the original game with a few more surprises bundled in. Certainly worth checking out and adding to that ever increasing collection of yours.
