Dizzy : Prince of the Yolkfolk

Codemasters go back to the good old adventure style for a "collectors" edition of the Dizzy series and it does good justice too.
The big bad Rockwart is at it again and has improsoned our poor hero Dizzy in yet another underground dungeon, after quickly figuring out an escape plan you discover that Rockwart has done all kinds of bad things to the residents of your village including kicking your entire family out of the kingdom and taking over for himself. It?s your only option to get your tiny butt moving and rescue everyone from a torture under the reign of Rockwart and defeat both him and his hoardes who are guarding the village.
It all sound familar so will you carry on playing after a few seconds? find out below.
Graphics
Once again the game has returned to its roots and is back in adventure style, using the engine from Fantasy World you can still carry more than one item and most of them have been scattered in easy to find places so that you can quickly make progress.
The graphics are as ever well drawn with plenty of detail and the usual dark colours on offer throughout the game. The only problem that I had with the game was during a conversation with any of the many interactive characters in the game the windows containing the characters speach continually overlapped and made a right royal mess of the screen. Other than that it?s just as good as Fantasy World but with a new puzzles and a brighter storyline to follow.
Sound
The sound is not so good however as Codemasters go back to the time when Dizzy was released and simply remove any ingame sounds and slap a long theme over the top - great for ten minutes but worth turning down after 11.
Gameplay
As for gameplay, providing you loved the original games you will still love this one as there are more puzzles and interaction between the characters. If you have never played the original or any of the previous releases then this would be a good place to start, all in all another great adventure starring Dizzy the egg.
