Domark must have been on drugs when they created this, a game of a classic horror movie starring the murderous ways of Jason Vorhees on Camp Crystal Lake.

Kids are not supposed to watch horror movies so in theory this game should never have been created, anyway here?s the story. You and nine of your friends are spending the summer holidays at Camp Crystal Lake (very clever), you are miles away from civilisation and unaware that Jason Vorhees has a filthy grotto close to the camp. At midnight on the first night you discover a blood stained mask and realise that Jason is waiting, terryfired you must protect your friends from Jason and finally dispose of him before he disposes of you.

This classic horror movie was also given the video game treatment for the Atari 2600 console but we won?t really be looking at that one in this review.

Graphics

All those that have played the Atari version will instantly notice that the CPC version isn?t far off - not a good thing I can assure you.

The graphics are far from well drawn and look as if a 9 year old has been sat in front of a paint program for a few minutes. Your character can walk into walls on the side of the buildings and can often be confused with people that look exactly like you wearing the exact same clothes - talk about lack of imagination. The best thing about the graphics in this game are the death screens (take a look at the screen to the right) which again would scare the shit out of children.

Sound

Sound is even worse, this is supposed to be a game based on a well known horror movie right? well how come all you hear throughout the game is fairy tale music and nursery rhymes such as old Mcdonald and Robin Hoods theme - just because you step into a wood or barn? come on. There are hardly any other sounds except for a digitized scream when a member of your party meets their maker.

Gameplay

As for gameplay well there isn?t much you can do other than walk around a small map and climb inside the 2 or 3 buildings looking for Jason and then attempt to kill him before everyone in your team is dead - not an easy task and certainly not a game that keeps you coming back for more. Terrible sound and graphics are only the start of the problem with this game...possibly Domarks most cringable moment.
