Ghostbusters

Another game transferred from the silver screen to the computer screen by the mighty Activision, thank god it wasn?t Ocean!
It?s 1984 and the city of New York is having a few strange occurances, ghosts coming back to life to walk the streets of America. It all seems harmless at first as the Ghostbusters (Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Dan Akroyd) set out to trap them all in a self containment unit, only the machine is soon switched off by a member of the government of health only to let them all free and bring down the spirits of the Gate keeper (Possesses Sigourney Weaver/Dana) and the Key Master (posesses Rick Moranis) who both involk the worst spirit of them all to destroy the Americans.
You are the newest member of the team and must work hard to stop them before they stop us, for ever.
Graphics
Created by one of the most highly rated software developers today (Activision) this game sets you up as a new member to the Ghostbusters team and your main aim is to bring down the PK reading in New York and stop the ghosts from destroying buildings and lives one by one.
The graphics are great considering the age of the game and the main drawbacks are due to the design rather than the capabilities of the machine. Not many colours have been used throughout though and the ghosts you are supposed to be catching suffer from the hollow and invisible bugs we have noticed in the past, but considering the age of the game you can?t complain that much. The bouncing ball that moves in time with the music at the start of the game is funny though.
Sound
Sound is as average as you can get, all Activision have treated us to is a dubbed version of the original soundtrack from the movie and a bit sampled speach that says "Ghostbusters! hahahahah" at the start of the game. There are no other sounds to be heard and after about 10 minutes it sort of gets on your nerves and is advised that you turn it down or switch it off.
Gameplay
Gameplay isn?t up to much either as you wander from house to house and trap the ghosts, it all seems a little "samey" after about 5-10 minutes of play. Not that trapping the ghosts isn?t fun and kind of hillarious when you notice they all look like slimer, if you liked the movie (and you should) then try the game, you might like it. I just wish there was more you could say about the game.
