Almost every one of my friends had this game when it was released for the Amstrad CPC and Sinclair ZX Spectrum and swear by the arcade feeling and andrenaline that this game used to give them, until recently I didn?t believe a word they said.

Spindizzy is a puzzle game produced by Electric Dreams in which you can take the shape of many different objects to slide, roll or spin around the various treacherous maze like levels of the game. You have been given only 100 minutes to complete the game and collect all of the diamonds that have been scattered in various points of the maze.

The difficulty of the game varies from room to room as the diamonds have been put in low easy to reach places and high hard to reach places that need a lot of skill to reach, can you manage to collect them all before the counter reads 000.

Here?s the review.

Graphics

Spindizzy is a great puzzle game that should keep all those who think they are good at this type of game on their toes as it goes from easy to hard in a matter of seconds.

The graphics in this game are great, okay there isn?t much you can do with a game like this in terms of graphics on screen but this one does look good. A wide selection of colours have been used to create different looking rooms and the objects in which you can change into. The game takes on a 3D approach and the CPC copes with it very well indeed, it?s almost like the Batman 3D game that was released by Ocean Software but taking a different approach to the game.

Sound

Sound is very active indeed and I must admit we didn?t expect any good sound in this game what so ever. We were surprised to hear noises such as the ball hitting the side of the map, elevators going up and down, switches being pressed and much more. There isn?t any music in the game but that only makes things better because it would only distract you from the game anyway.

Gameplay

Gameplay is also great, if you like puzzle games then I am sure that you will like this one. Although it isn?t easy to control the object you play with and it?s easy to fall of the edge of the map it only makes the game that little bit more playable as you try and try again to reach those diamonds. The only bad thing about the game is the counter in the top left corner, you are constantly keeping one eye on the counter and one eye on the game when you should be concentrating on the game only.
