Another racing game with pretty much the same story as the last one you looked at, but just in case you have no idea what the story is behind such games - here we go.

You are a top class racing driver and must compete against three other drivers that are just as good as you from different locations of the globe. As a race car driver you must drive around many complex tracks and come in first place in order to proceed to the next one otherwise it?s back to signing on the dole again.

The game takes the ever popular over head approach to racing as the cockpit style is not really suited to most racing games on the CPC and indeed the C64/Spectrum because it takes a lot of development time and is more complicated to code. People just liked this style of racing more anyway so it didn?t matter all that much as Electric Dreams have a stab at an F1 racing simulator.

Graphics

Those that have followed the Amiga will have heard of Super Cars or Skid Marks and so will instantly know how this game plays and feels. It takes an overhead view of the racing track and everything looks ever so tiny on screen.

The graphics in this game are to be expected pretty basic and I guess you couldn?t get much better with an overhead view of this style of game. The tracks however rate from easy to challenging and there are plenty of short cuts to take if you are lagging behind the others, the cars look like tiny Micro Machines other than that there is little to write about.

Sound

The sound in the game is just plain dull and awful, in fact the only sound you will hear is an irritating engine noise from your car only. There is nothing else at all.

Gameplay

Gameplay is off the scale when it comes to bad controls. Your car refuses to go in a straight line despite your efforts and you simply cannot tell whether your car is facing forwards or backwards without taking a very good look. You?ll also find yourself mounted to the walls if you?re not careful and that can be a nigshtmlare to get out of, by then the others will have almost won the race.

All in all this is a racing game that should be avoided.
