Trucking

The idea of trucking is to make x million dollars, Cascade say that in most other games it?s relatively easy and would stop there leaving the player with nothing to aim for. Trucking on the other hand determines the final score by the amount of dollars per move. This time leaving the player with something to aim for.
It?s an old strategy game that was written back in 1985 and here comes the review...
Graphics
In Trucking you will be buying, selling and moving cargo from one place to another while trying to keep your head above water and make that x million amount of dollars we talked about earlier. In terms of graphics, well the game was written back in 1985 and things were a little quiet back then so Cascade decided to strip the graphics and present the player with a load of figures and some options (just a basic interface really)
Sound
Sound wise, well we are treated to an introductory piece of music that while very nice at first you can?t skip it at a later date and must wait for the tune to finish before the game moves on. Other than this music we are left with very basic sounds such as bleeps but then again the game was written in 1985 and coded in BASIC.
Gameplay
Gameplay, you are given a set of instructions for the first 2-3 screens and we suggest you take note with a pen and paper otherwise you?ll have no idea what to do when the game finally starts. You have the opportunity to see what it?s like working in the trucking industry in a very basic but in many ways playable (to those that enjoy this kind of game) business simulation.
Considering the age of the title it doesn?t come off as badly as you would think.
