Chevy Chase...ahh...is there any reader on this page that doesn?t have some memory of that name? ahem...well now that I know I?m on my own with this one. Strap yourself in to one of the worlds largest country/street races and get ready to compete against some of the worlds most well known and experienced drivers in this awesome racing game from Hi-Tec.
Graphics
Chevy Chase is without a doubt a great looking racer and one that truly shows how good Hi-Tec software could have been back in those days. Colours are absolutely stunning and it almost looks like something out of the 16-bit era, detail is just as high as you would expect from a 16-bit console.
The game has obviously been very well coded too as even with this amount of detail the game runs at an amazing speed and all without any problems, there are no serious glitches in the game and it plays just as good as it looks. Very well done by Hi-Tec.
Sound
The theme music is great, you will be looking at the title screen a good few minutes before it is time to turn over the cassette and rewind side B. In-game sounds are just as good with a superb engine sound reving around corners, bangs when you hit objects or cars and even more music when you complete and/or start a new race. Again, very well done indeed.
Gameplay
The game plays just as good as it looks, the control system works perfectly, even though we are used to the acceleration of cars being one of the controller buttons we could easily navigate around the corners with little to no bumps to the car itself.
This is one race that looks great, plays great and even sounds great. There is nothing to fault in Chevy Chase what so ever and we highly recommend our readers to grab a copy and give it a go! great stuff.
