Chickin Chase

Chicken Chase is a strange little platform game but considering the interest given to chickens back in the 1980s, at least in the computer world (Chuckie Egg for one) it was hardly surprising that this game made it pretty big in at least my part of the UK. Keep your lady chicken happy and avoid being slapped in this platform game with a difference.
Graphics
Chicken Chase certainly looks the part on the CPC with extremely bright and often loud colours being boasted about the single screen game. All sprites look superb and you almost feel like you are playing an interactive cartoon, this is one of the things that made the game a success in this part of the UK and pretty widely talked about at schools.
Animation is top notch as our hero walks about the chicken coop pecking holes in the ground and the animation that plays when you loose a life is nothing short of superb. A very very good job on this one from the Firebird lads.
Sound
Sound is again on top form, we are presented with an almost Nintendo sounding piece of music just before the game loads and that final "wink" sound is almost tone perfect to the GameBoy tone when you first switch on. The game itself has it?s fair share of music and sound effects too, great stuff!
Gameplay
As we mentioned earlier this is a strange little platformer but one that can be picked up by people of all ages and played with no problems what so ever. The controls work fine and there are no serious sound or graphical glitches to make the game any less enjoyable.
If you like your platformers cute or just want something with a difference then we here at CPC Zone suggest you get your retro shoes out and get ready to play, a superb title from Firebird.
