How is your Kung Fu? are you a kick ass ninja? chances are if you are into retrogaming you?re not quite as quick on your feet as this master. Choy Lee Fut will put you through your paces with basic training (hitting giant coat hangers with sticks and whips) and of course a good old scrap with two stange looking blokes in pink tights.

It wouldn?t go down so well today but back in the day this wasn?t a bad game at all.

Graphics

From the moment the loading screen for Choy Lee Fut has loaded it looks set to be a good looking little beat-em-up. And to be quite honest, it is! the graphics are extemely well drawn and the sets are very well thought out. Everything is animated superbly with our little kung fu warrior performing no less than 10 moves from a single button joystick or the ever so handy Amstrad keyboard.

The game is very well designed indeed, you start with basic training for 3 or 4 stages in which you simply practice knocking the crap out of gigantic coat hangers with your bare fist or a giant stick before getting the chance to kick some butt! There are no bugs in the game and it plays at a very acceptable speed indeedy.

Sound

Sound is a little bit of a let down as yet again we don?t hear any of that wonderful music we love to hear and the in-game sounds are fairly limited at times. Though to be honest the game remains very enjoyable and pretty hard to put down so it isn?t all that bad at all, lets just be glad we have something to listen too.

Gameplay

Gameplay is of a high level, those that enjoy a good kick-em-up will most likely enjoy a little go on this classic. Fans of International Karate will feel right at home with the controls and easily master the training levels, for those that don?t feel confident with the controls simply hit it as many times as you can and you will still progress to the good old punch-em-up stages and will find it very hard to put down.

In short, the control system works a treat, it isn?t hard to get into and after the first few levels it becomes very addictive indeed. From a little know software house this is easily one of those games you need in your collection - highly recommended.
