Our gifted genious and Scientist Doctor Bakterius has been taken prisoner by the Merciless Terrorist Organisation O.A.P it?s your mission (Clever & Smart) to infiltrate the base and free him!
Take control of two of the best in this action packed adventure from Micropartner.
Graphics
The overall style of Clever & Smart reminds me of the classic Atari 2600 maze games in which you ran around the square corners avoiding capture from the various nasties that litter the game. Obviously the CPC is capable of much more than that and the graphics in this game prove it, colours are nice and varied throught the various "rooms" and it gives you a great cartoon feeling while wandering about the place.
There are some great comic moments in the animation too, simply walk upto one of those old looking guards and watch the dust fly, this kind of humour just makes the game that little bit more enjoyable.
Sound
Sound is a little bit of a let down in terms of music but the overall effects are quite nice, as hear the footsteps as you wander about the place, telephone boxes, fights and scuffles. It might not be overly active all the time but it?s still quite good and worthy of a good score.
Gameplay
There are no bugs in the title and nothing that will annoy you to a level where it isn?t worth playing for longer than 10 minutes.
The control system can be a little of at times because you move two characters at once, this occupies a large amount of gameplay space and as you can image it is often a little hard to navigate around those square corners.
On the whole though, it?s not a bad little title and worth checking out.
