Count Duckula 2

Just when you thought it was safe to swtich on your CPC, safe in the knowledge that poor TV licensed conversions had been laid to rest here comes another one from Alternative Software, in the sequel to the equaly bad No Sax Please our vegetarian vampire friend is back with Nanny and Igor by his side.
Graphics
If you thought the graphics were bad in the original Count Duckula : No Sax Please here the developers manage to go one step further down the ladder.
Looking like something that should be on a Texas Instruments or Dragon 32 machine the poor colours, awful animation and extremely slow gameplay will have you switching off your CPC within the first few minutes after loading. To think this game takes in access of 10 minutes to load and at least in the graphics department it isn?t worth the cassette it was written on. Major graphical glitches are present from the start to the very finish and the awful and inexplicable gameplay speed is enough to drive you up the wall.
Sound
Now this is the strange thing. The music in the original No Sax Please outing starring Count Duckula had a fair but not great soundtrack based on the hit theme music, the sequel sounds much better and is even worth listening to if you ever watched the original cartoon. From that point onwards though the sound is reduced to those you would hear in a freeware title and simply aren?t worth listening to, time to turn the volume off if you must play it.
Gameplay
Count Duckula 2 is without a doubt one of the biggest disappointing titles on the CPC, with the original game being bad we thought the sequel would have something to offer us as a way of an apology, sadly Alternative didn?t feel the title needed any work and released this sham of a game instead.
The graphical problems alone will have you switching off shortly after load time and while we do not judge on the graphics alone the game itself is a long way from being playable and deserves to be forgotten.
