Well there truly isn?t a story to this title that I can possibly think of, heading back into the 1980s when the breakout/arkanoid phenomenon broke free of the 8-bit era came this little title that most likely took the developers at Atlantis less than 2 weeks to develop.

You will see what we mean in the review below.

Graphics

Those that have played Arkanoid will be fully aware of the full colour blocks, the rounded edges of our "bat" ship and the excellent extras such as the music that came with it. At the same time those that remember Ataris game "Breakout" will be aware of the black backgrounds, basic coloured blocks and the squared edges of our bat, oh and no music at all.

Well Crack-Up is closer to Ataris game than Imagines Arkanoid, the colours of our bricks are basic, the edges of the "bat" are square and even the loading and option screens smack of retro-gaming. This is certainly not a bad thing and I?m almost 100% sure that the developers of Crack-Up intended for the game to look like this, but for those that expect another Arkanoid ass kicker...don?t expect it in this title.

Sound

As we mentioned above there isn?t any music in this title just the basic "ping" and "pong" sounds when you hit the "ball" or the bricks at the top of the screen. Was it intended? possibly and for that reason we hold judgement.

Gameplay

The idea of the game is simply, hit the ball with the bat and smash the bricks at the top of the screen, act fast so that you dont loose your ball and try to collect power-ups as you go, these will either help you or hinder you in your goal of progressing to the next stage.

Anyone can pick up and play this kind of game and it has gone down in history as a famous puzzle/arcade title (not Crack-Up itself but the genre). If you want fancy pick up Arkanoid, prefer the basics? this is for you.
