Another completely new developer to CPC Zone (Topo Soft) released this little action game back in the 1980s in which you grab a space suit, tackle the aliens and find the keys to open the doors and get your ass out of there in one piece.

Yeah, we dont have the official story but its something like that.

Graphics

Cray 5 is a typical action game from the 1980s and in terms of graphics would not look out of place on the BBC Microcomputer, not that this is an entirely bad thing.

The colours are reasonable and look better than they would on say the ZX Spectrum, animation is again fair but nothing to tell your parents about and there are no bugs that cause the game to crash at any stage.

Sound

Sound is another week point, we are treated to the occasional bit of sound here and there (i.e. when you hit the floor or get shot) but again we expected something better from the CPC. Shame on you.

Gameplay

The game itself is pretty simplistic, keep your spaceman in the air, find the keys and open the door to escape to freedom. Of course you?ll be shooting the crap out of some aliens on the way so be on your guard.

The control system is better than most that use the "Thrust" system in that you don?t have to keep pushing up while moving forward and you hardly ever hit the ground to loose energy if you are careful enough.

All in all its just another space based shooter for your CPC collection, nothing major but not overly bad either.
