Alinka

Another game not written in any form of English text and one that none of the CPC Zone staff and friends have a storyline for, basically this little game is a clone of the popular Nintendo classic Tetris in which the player must line up coloured blocks in a particular order before the screen becomes swamped with different bricks.

Graphics

From the moment Alinka loads you know that a fair amount of effort has been put into this game with a nice introduction screen and some very clever effects before the game starts (watch the curtain drop on the options panel). Other than some fancy tricks here and there you can?t expect much from a Tetris clone and there is little in terms of differences that Alinka has to offer, though there are some great colours and graphics on show the game feels and looks much the same.

Sound

Alinka has a great introduction theme and what sounds like a copied/remixed version of the Tetris theme running in the background during play, you should be warned that there are no other sounds on offer such as when bricks match and disappear etc and the in-game music can quickly become annoying aswell as bring your concentration down.

Gameplay

Everyone or just about everyone has played the Nintendo classic or at least a clone of some sort so we don?t need to explain the concept of the game to you. While the CPC didn?t have that many puzzle games released in it?s life time other computers and consoles did, Alinka is certainly one of the best in this genre for the Amstrad and if you are a fan of the original we recommend you download your copy by clicking "Download" from the introduction section.

If we could read anything other than English we would happily bring you a more in depth review but for now I think we?ve covered the bulk.
