Graphics

Nicely drawn backgrounds and well animated planes dominate this game from start to finish, you canâ??t help but be impressed by the amount of work thatâ??s gone in to this budget title. The game certainly looks good and, for an arcade shoot em-up, you couldnâ??t ask for much more.

My only real gripe with the graphics is that they are somewhat contradictory in that time has been spent to make the planes move semi-realistically and yet the bullets that they fire are little more than orange or red pixels. I concede that this makes them easier to see but still has an adverse effect on the overall graphical feel in my opinion.

Sound

estricted to gunshots and a little jingle at the end of each level. The sonics are far from inspiring.

Gameplay

A nice, old school shoot-em-up F1 Tornado is a fun game to play in the short term but offers little in the way of a long term investment. Simplistic in the extreme, the game is a basic take on the old fashioned space arcades and bears a striking resemblance to a Gulf War based R-Type.

After a few plays, you soon master the controls and get a good idea of how your enemies move, making the game a little bit too easy for most hardened gamers.

Having said that though, if youâ??re after a short-term shoot-em-up fix, you could do a lot worse than this.
