You are out on your own. The only space warrior left who can protect the Earth from the terrors of â??The Galactic Plague.â?? Can you penetrate their defences and destroy them before they destroy you?

Graphics

Run for the hills! Wave after wave of blocky aliens are attacking your blocky ship firing pixels at you. Arrgh! Fire a pixel back at them and turn them into pixellated debris that irritatingly stays on screen, making things look confusingâ?¦ Another problem is that your ship doesnâ??t look to be moving. The enemy does, fair enough, but your ship appears stationery while the alien formations attack.

Sound

Old school pings, whizzes and crashes are the order of the day. The sound effects canâ??t be faulted and are certainly the best thing about an otherwise painfully poor programme.

Gameplay

The Galactic Plague is difficult. Very difficult. Although the waves are short, youâ??ll still have to be a deadeye shot to take out enough of them to survive them flying past. The enemy ships move very quickly and are generally a much better aim than you.

Quite frankly, the difficulty level takes a sub standard Galaga rip-off and kick the game to death. Unremitingly awful stuff.

Too difficult and completely unsatisfying, use The Galactic Plague as a warning to all arcade manufacturers that one day someone will take their games and do something like this with itâ?¦
