Ocean have brought out the sequel to Tatio?s Bubble Bobble, with our heroes Bub and Bob in human form as they try to save the Rainbow Islands from the evil . You go through four sets of levels on seven levels of cute graphics and nice music. At the end of each island, you fight against a big monster which you must destroy to proceed to the next island. One of the middle islands - Doh?s Revenge is an injoke to Arkanoid, which was also produced by Tatio.

Graphics

These MODE 0 graphics have got to be the cutest ever on the CPC. All the characters are reconisable from their arcade counterparts and even the Arkanoid spoof level is like the Arkanoid game. Lots of colour is used but the game can get a bit slow at times.

Sound

All the levels have a nice tune playing thoughout them and the end of island monsters have their own tune. On hearing the music while playing the game for the review, my fiance Amy swears you could sing "Over the Rainbow" to it..

Gameplay

The game is very easy to get into and brings you back time and time again regardless of what format you play it on. Addidional challenges include collecting all seven diamonds which give you a huge points bonus at the end of each island, gives you an extra life and on the arcade machine, unlocks additional levels after you complete the game. I don?t know if they feature on the CPC version, because I?ve not got that far.

OVERALL

A good game. Ocean have produced yet another brilliant licence. This game appeals to all ages and is still popular today, well my young daughter Emma loves playing it.
