Arctic Fox

Arctic Fox is a very similar type of game (story wise at least) to most military threat games like Army Moves with only one major difference, you are in the middle of the Antarctic and your tank has been modified to manouvre around the ice ridden land.
There are other differences but we?ll go into those in the review, oh in case you?ve not noticed we have no idea about the story for this one.
Graphics
Artic Fox is a vector based 3D combat game in which you must quickly move around the icey lands and unlike some other vector based games it looks a whole lot nicer with quite a large amount of colour on offer, for those that need something to compare the graphics against we suggest you take a look at Star Wars (the arcade conversion). The game runs at quite a speed also so there are no coding bugs and given the quality of the graphics it can only be seen as a massive bonus - very well done indeed.
Sound
Sound is a bit of a let down though, there isn?t any music again (shame on you LCA) and the actual game sounds are week to say the least - this is one you might as well play with the sound switched off as you most certainly won?t be missing anything important or interesting. Considering the developer you should expect more.
Gameplay
Gameplay is great however, okay it lacks any great sound but the graphics more than make up for that loss. You can quickly walk around a 3D world which was something of a big buzz in the 1980s and early 90?s because games like Doom didn?t exist and virtual reality was a massive rip-off. Drive around and blast the enemy tanks indicated on your radar and you won?t come to any harm but sit still for long enough and it?s going to be "game over" before you know it.
Arctic Fox has been heralded as a great game in the retro-gaming world for a long time and we have experienced it first hand to be sure the retro-people know what they are talking about, they certainly do and this is another classic for your collections.
