As we have said before and will more than likely continue to talk about when we review this type of game, there isn?t really any kind of story-line to accompany them and the idea remains much the same, race around the circuits and try your best to come in first place.
Not much of an introduction we know but what can you do?

Graphics

Aspar GP Master is one of the few racing bike racing games to take on the top-down approach as opposed to the virtual "sitting on the bike" look that many other games used. To get an idea of how the game looks and feels imagine the Amiga classic Super Cars but instead of cars they?re bikes. Graphics wise the game looks a little basic at first glance, the tracks on the other hand are pretty well designed and much larger than we originally expected them to be. Players are presented in different coloured outfits (other than that they look the same) and the gameplay area is in a landscape (top to bottom) to make it easier to see what?s in front of you.

Sound

Sound is pretty basic however with no backing or introduction music on offer what-so-ever, the in-game sound effects are again quite limited with just a low pass bass sound for the bikes engine and the occasional crash sound if you hit the objects outside of the track - not great but it?s something at least.

Gameplay

Gameplay is another let down, the game is pretty hard to control and suffers from a large amount of slow-down when you first start the game and when you catch up to the other racers. It all adds up to pretty bad programming on some parts as everything bad about the game could have easily been improved, for example we would have loved a control system in which the fire button represented the accelerator and you only had to move left and right to navigate your way through the tracks - much easier.
In short Aspar GP Master isn?t the game it could have been, it?s not 100% awful but there are better games than this one out there.
