Sub Hunter is an side-scrolling shooter released for the CPC by retro gaming label Psytronik in early 2011. It is based on the 2007 C64 game which in turn was inspired by the 1977 Taito title of the same name.

There are 25 levels in which one steers a submarine on various missions that involve e.g. saving divers.

Sub Hunter is particularly notable for its smooth, colorful graphics with parallax-scrolling backgrounds which were previously thought to be more or less impossible on CPC hardware.

The game can be purchased on 3" disks or tapes or downloaded for free.
