Maybe this is interesting for someone...
I just bought this monitor for my man cave and out of pure curiosity I connected the CPC to its VGA input. And guess what... it works. A passive adapter is all you need. It also works for the Atari ST in both colour and mono resolutions. The image quality is not as perfect as on the NEC 1970NX but it's not bad.
This is (to my knowledge) one of the few QHD monitors and the only 27" QHD monitor that can sync to 15kHz. The model I bought was built in Sep 2024, so it's not even old stock.
Unfortunately not with smooth softscrolling in Ghosts'n Goblins, Relentless and Super Edge Grinder but e.g. Red Sunset perfectly works.
Looks like Philips used a TV chip in a monitor. Cool.

I was really surprised. Even most TVs I tried did not accept 15kHz on their VGA port but only via Scart.
It would be interesting to open it up and see what chipset it uses.

How about a MODE 2 picture? :)
Just to be clear: 27" imho is not a great fit for such a resolution. I would always prefer a 12-15" LCD over it for regular use. But for a quick test every now and then this is really convenient.
There's a 24" version. I wonder if it has the same compatibility:

That's why I said it would be interesting to know what chipset the monitor uses. If they used the same one, then there's a good chance the 24in version is also 15kHz compatible.

Must be done by someone who has a better record of not breaking things.
I would love to test the 24" version. How did you connect it ? Just a simple RGB->VGA cable that connects just the lines, or did you need to mod it with resistors (75Ohms) ?
If I would have a correct cable (will order one), then I will testorder a 24" version of that Monitor.

I want to add that I have the 27" 4K Philips 272P7VPTKEB and I did a quickndirty try yesterday on the VGA input and it accepts 15kHz signal from my Plus.
The monitor has an incredible good picture in general that is why I use it as a secondary high quality monitor on my main PC.
I will do some test this evening and post them with pictures in a seperate thread to not pollute this one.
