Title: 6128 Plus/OSSC/Hauppauge Rocket
Post by: ComSoft6128 on 14:32, 29 August 19
A short video using Burning Rubber to demonstrate the output from the OSSC. Recorded at 720p.
The disc based games I have looked at appear OK but I have only looked at a few so cannot
guarantee good results with the vast majority of games.
Audio output is fine thru the TV but there is one drawback - when using the Rocket the recorded audio is out of sync by 9/10 seconds.
Using another capture device might get round this problem but I can't confirm that.

Is it captured from a real CPC?

At the Revision event, the demos was recorded using the OSCC device and the result on the Vanity and Overlanders records was not really good.
May be there is some settings to use with the CPC and PLUS that you can share to be able to improve the result result for the next year?

Hi,

@Xenomorph - yes my own original Plus from 1990 (repaired by Bryce) with a 3.5" B drive and Rombox.

@TOTO - some info from a previous post here:
http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/applications/the-desktop-environment-system-disc(k)-and-file-functions/ (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/applications/the-desktop-environment-system-disc(k)-and-file-functions/)

The Rocket will ONLY record on the passthru RGB setting - three of the higher line settings will display on the TV but again the Rocket does not recognise them. Until I bought the two new PSU's the OSSC could not load any screens (17k screens files or BASIC demos) that had a white border and background - sync was lost immediately. Why white in particular would cause this to happen I simply don't know. Any ideas?

Another small point - various demos including this one - http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/applications/parrotry-plus-demo-from-1987/ (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/applications/parrotry-plus-demo-from-1987/)
will only display on screen from drive A when using the OSSC - drive B is a no no.
It will Run from drive B when using the Monitor but it appears that the slower loading times from a 3.5" Romdos D20 on B cause the OSSC to lose sync.

Hope this info is of help.

Cheers,

Peter

The same guy records on evoke. I was quite satisfied with the recording. Only the cange to the axelay part had a little sideo-sync lost. BUT we recorded from the GX4000-Scart and we did not get any good picture out of the gx4000-monitor connector. Also he tried many settings before it was ok at 50Hz. And imho the GX4000 has a slightly different clock to meet the PAL-frequency better. Could this be an issue ?

May be better because the Sony CXA IC... But, I think the advanced CRTC tricks used by high end demo not help at all.
