We lost the oportunity to know how the chip is constructed.(the amstrad prototype sell in ebay).
And its the more darkness part not know of the cpc.(I refer how its desiginign internally, not what it does).
I find this cool webpage. about reverse enginering program with links.

I was thinking If anyone, has gate arrays broken,it would be a good idea donate the chip to them.
As with the time. They decaped the chip,And we know the insides :) .
What you thinking?.

Good point would be to donate some spare ASIC and ACID...
If we were to know precisely how they are done we may fix them and get those properly and betterly emulated in a programmable chip... and gat the perfect PLUS on a chip minus the bugs.

It'd be worth sacrificing a dead CPC for the GA, and maybe sourcing some 6845's to donate as well.
Still have a GA with a broken pin and dead PCW.I think i'll unsolder PCW component (ULA+Printer chip) when 'ill have some time to send them with GA.
great!
You can desolder the gate array,or you can send the entire motherboard. They accept all I think.
Will you turn your PCW into a CPCW8256 ? :)
