Hi
Just wondering if anyone has any advice on connecting both a DDI5 (https://www.sellmyretro.com/offer/details/36061) and one of these serial adapters (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Amstrad-CPC-Serial-Interface-Copy-files-dsk-images-run-games-directly-from-PC/273935795432) to my CPC464?
I have seen that you can get expansion boards like this one (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Amstrad-CPC-Expansion-Backplane-Board-x4-Mother-MX4-464-664-6128-and-PLUS/192885436188) which will work fine for the serial adapter but the DDI5 needs a male edge connector. I thought about using a combination of this connector (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Amstrad-CPC-Edge-Connector-female-to-50-Pin-male-Expansion-data-ribbon-cable/192977874733) with this adapter (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Amstrad-CPC-464-664-6128-Connector-Expansion-Port-Male-Edge-to-Edge-Adaptors/192874965967) to connect it to the board - is there any reason this would not work?
If there is a better way please let me know!
Cheers
Nic
In case anyone finds this useful, I found that there is a new expansion board in the works here https://github.com/revaldinho/cpc_ram_expansion/wiki/CPC-Expansion-Backplane, although it seems pretty new! I'm going to try to build a one of these boards as I think it should solve my problem being able to daisy chain.
Surreal, INSANE PRICES for a piece of cable with a Centronics plug.
You can buy it here, seems to be the same device

Yes, agree it is overpriced on eBay! Ive ordered 10 PCBs, and I'm going to try building some myself, just getting into electronics now I have some space to do it so i think it'll be a great project to begin with.
Sure. Always the same guy selling parts for at less 4 times the common price + really overpriced shipping fees ... And peoples buy ... That is the real problem.
For folks that pay 30 GBP for a CPC Scart cable it might still be reasonably priced :-X
