Title: amstrad gx4000 and cartridge backbit pro
Post by: daniel49 on 08:47, 20 May 24

Is it necessary to solder the cartridge to the console to do the installation?

If you buy the cartridge and its corresponding adapter, it should not be necessary to solder anything.

Someone who has this cartridge and the console to explain their experience

I have the BackBit cartridge for my Colecovision and it comes with an adaptor of your choosing.

You won't need to solder anything... The adaptor connects to the BackBit cartridge itself by sliding into a slot.

"Hello, I have the Backbit Pro cartridge, and I can answer this question. The cartridge is not soldered, however, a wire needs to be connected to the motherboard, which will then go to the cartridge, otherwise it won't work, because the ACID chip (from the Amstrad) will block the cartridge from launching."
