Morning all. Currently restoring yet another 464, however found that the rubber drive rings in the cassette player have worn and snapped. Thus, it won't play the tapes correctly. I cannot source these anywhere, anyone have a source or a spare cassette deck lying around?
Cheers
There are quite a few rubber rings in a cassette player, can you specify exactly which ones you need.
Bryce.
Dataserve shop still sell belts i think (at least the bigger motor ones):

Yes mate. The ripped ring around the play spindle is worn, and the thick, small ring around the play engagement gear is snapped. Thus the play function sticks while trying to load.

Yeah, been on Dataserves site already Cholo. :(
They might be difficult to find, but I'll check my spares at the weekend and let you know if I have anything suitable.

Amstrad CPC464 Cassette Deck. Replacement Parts.
I have found an appropriate Tape deck to take parts from for repairs to an Amstrad CPC464 Cassette Deck.
The White Commodore 64, C2N Cassette Deck, White Datassette, Black Datassette.
The parts are the same for the Play, Fast Forward, Fast rewind.
I have been able to use the Pinch roller assembly, and the Play (Take-up) Idler, and Idler carrier ( Thinner shaft )The counter can NOT be used as the mounting method is different.
There must be thousands of these available ?
Ray
Well, check this one if it has the parts you need:

Shipping is not inexpensive from the US though...
Is nobody ever using the search function before posting?

CHeers. Failing that, I'm trying to source a complete deck to replace it. Or a full 464 with a blown board.

I did run a search, but never found this. I may have sourced something more local, but if this is still available, It may do the trick
