After a 10 year absence I have not just 1, but 2 CPC's coming into my life. A CPC 464 and a 6128, both without monitors (I draw the line at having a 30 year old CRT).
I have an RGB SCART lead on order and a SD card reader from the guy in Poland who makes them (+ associated cables).
In terms of a PSU I know the CPC is 5 volts on a 2.1mm connector, centre positive. Would this PSU do:

It's 4 amps which I assume will be enough to supply the CPC as well as the SD card reader.
I know I can only use the SD card reader on the 6128 (the 464 would need a DD1), but I assume I could load tape games from a computer/mp3 device by using something like this?

Would that work?
What I don't want to do is be messing around with original media for either machine. For my C64 I've abandoned all original media and now only use my 1541 Ultimate.
Am I thinking along the right lines?
It was my new years resolution to buy a CPC as I couldn't face going into the 30th year without owning one, despite up till now being quite happy using emulation!
Thanks.
Welcome aboard!
Looks to me like you're going in the right direction.
I think the CPC only needs 2 amps actually. I have quite a few PSU's that can be used, because I just buy them everytime I find one at various flee markets. :)
The tape thingy should also work. I've successfully loaded stuff that way from my phone, playing back a wav file. Didn't test with mp3 though.
Ah well, I read somewhere it was 4. Think it was the guy selling the cables on Ebay. + I think the SD card adaptor needs 0.5amps.
So my power supply will be over spec but luckily (if I remember my electronics lessons correctly) the PSU will just supply what the CPC requires to a maximum of 4amps. So it should be fine.
