Title: Comparable mice/joystick
Post by: Liamob1 on 11:09, 06 March 17
Hi all,

I'm sporting a CPC464 at the moment and was wondering if a standard serial mouse would do the trick, or does it have to be specifically compatible with the CPC and locomotive BASIC?

Ideas?

The CPC464 does not have a serial port, so serial mice (mostly built for use with IBM compatible computers) can't normally be used.

The 9 pin D connector on the CPC range is for joysticks.

If you look on this forum, elsewhere a member is selling mouse adapters that you can use with your CPC464.

As there was no standard mouse interface / adapter, and various third party suppliers designed their own mouse interface, some software works with some interfaces but not all. So check that the software you want to use works with the mouse interface you intend to use.

Oh, and the supplied BASIC knows nothing about mice.
