Title: CTM 644: Which wire(-colour) to which pin?
Post by: Microprofessor on 09:44, 01 March 13
Hi,

yesterday I desoldered a defective video plug from the CTM644. As I tried to put a new plug to the 6 coloured wires I could not find any information which wire/colour is for which signal.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

I don't think that it's documented anywhere, but you can test the wires to find out which is which. First of all find out which one is the GND, by doing a continuity test to the power plug GND. The RGB wires should all measure 100R to GND and I think they are coloured correctly, ie: Red wire is Red etc. The Lum wire isn't connected, so it should be open circuit to GND. The Sync wire will probably show a high resistance to GND, but I'm not sure of the exact value. Either way, connecting Lum and Sync the wrong way won't damage the monitor or CPC, so if you get them mixed just swap them around.

Ah good to know. We should add this info to the Wiki page.
