Nice!   :)

The best is to use the MotherX4 passthrough connector, because:
- the floppy ribbon cable stay flat, the connexion is not weak and the board don't hide the screen.
- one slot left for a new MX4 board for all 464/664/6128 users.

Sure, it's always better.
But, because the DDI-1 is an exclusive feature for 464, it's more clever to use the passthrough. :)

Sweet. How about a similar board that has a plus style connector instead of the edge connector? I know I could use ribbon cable but it'd be nicer if the connector was rigid at a height above the desk.

For what? There's no expansion that needs a Centronics socket. All the old expansions were edge or had a flat cable, so using a 50way pin header connector/cable for them is easier.

Well, right. That's definitely needed for the 464 Plus.  :)

It's a Brunword Elite Rom Module. In my opinion the best wordprocessor for the CPC.

I guessed it might be, but the only Brunword I ever saw was covered in black Resin, not plastic wrapped. Is there resin under the plastic, or can the PCB be seen?

It is resin wrapped. The tape is only over the eprom where I chipped the resin off to dump the image to assist with Arnold support for it.

It would be very nice if Piotr's MX4 setup would fit inside a FDI-1 case with the HXC display and buttons to the front...  ;D

That looks nice, I guess I want horizontal for the DDI although I worry there wont be much space between my 464 and GT64 to put everything. Certainly cheaper then the serial module I almost got the other day.

Go into the 3rd dimension and spend your GT some 1-2 inch feet to stay on  ;)
