Title: External Floppy on Amstrad 6128 Plus
Post by: SOS on 22:50, 14 March 20
Hi Folks,

i hope someone can help me.
I'm made an cable with this instructions (1st Picture):
https://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/DIY:Floppy_Drives (https://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/DIY:Floppy_Drives)
And i thought, i can connect an HXC or Gotek (FlashFloppy) or an 3.5 Inch FDD to my Plus
(all of them works with my CPC6128).
"Drive B: Disc Missing"

The Gotek is jumpered to "S1"
The HXC to ID1 = Drive B (Drive A is the same effect)

::) Has someone an idea? I think i'm blind on both eyes  :(

Thanks

Normally it must run, but perhaps you made a mistakes with your cable.

I made a Cabel Adapter for you and checked it.

If you give me your adress, I will send it to you...

That picture is from me and I use that exact cable configuration to connect my HxC and 3.5in drive to both the 6128 and 6128+. You must have made a mistake somewhere or there's a bad connection.

What I do is to use an adapter for the Plus: Two centronics plugs and the cable is shifted by one. That works just find with any floppy / HxC for the CPC.

That's what's shown in the picture too.

Ok, thanks for the posts.
After taking a closer look at my cable and thinking about possible errors for a long time   :-[
=>
A little bit of violence has brought the cable into fit.
Now it works  :D

That's the way it is, with 2 left hands and 10 thumbs  :picard:
