Title: Gotek 6128
Post by: CrookieMonster on 21:07, 08 June 25
I've never used a Gotek before but what equipment would I need for a 6128?

I'd like an external drive but where's the best place to get one (I've seen some on Amazon yet I'm not sure if any would be suitable).

And exactly which cable is needed, which adapter and what, in essence, needs to be done to get it all up and running?

Hope someone can help! Would it be the same process for a PCW 8256?

I recently bought one of these, External Gotek (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142684978875) and made up my own ribbon cable.

But some software expects to run from Drive A, the internal drive, where the external drive is Drive B.

See this thread A-B Switch (https://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/hardware-related/who-would-add-a-switch-to-my-gotek-cable-to-short-pins-1112-as-an-a-b-switch/#msg250977).

I also have purchased these, Internal Gotek (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166380713418)

Ikonsgr sells a cable https://retroworkbench.blogspot.com/p/35-diskgotekhxc-drive-cables-power.html (https://retroworkbench.blogspot.com/p/35-diskgotekhxc-drive-cables-power.html) with which you can attach a Gotek externally, and also choose if its gonna be the A or B drive. He's in this forum too.
