Title: GT65 with very low brightness
Post by: Salvo B on 09:00, 10 May 17
Hey there...

While I'm waiting for some components to being delivered for repairing the 12V rail of my cpc6128, I'd like to discuss with you about another minor issue that maybe with your help could be solved.

I got my original GT65 monitor bundled with the machine, but it seems that it just doesn't works properly, it gives me a very low brightness image, even with the regulations at maximum.

Well, as I've said before, it's just a minor issue, since nowadays I can connect the cpc to a color TV using a Scart cable, but you know, sometimes I'm missing that cool greenish colors :D, so I'd like to try opening the case and messing up a bit to find the problem (or eventually causing other damages :D)

Could someone of you hardware gurus help me on this? I've read elsewhere that opening CRT monitors is very risky for the electrical shock, should I follow some particular rules to avoid being killed :P?

always thankful for your time...

Um, unless you're highly trained in fixing CRT screens and television, i'd strongly advise against opening one up...

Try cleaning the pins in the DIN plug first.
